Bush Hill cubs are a mixed pack in the group.

They meet on a Friday afternoon from 14:30 to 16:30.

Wally Kohler Enduro Cycle Rally - 7 June

On 7 June 2008 we took part in the Wally Kohler Enduro Cycle rally at Delta Park. We entered two teams both did extremely well and we are very proud of our Cubs!

Zak’s Comments: On the 7th June I went to Camp Delta for the Cycle rally. I did a practice run and managed half the course in 5 minutes. I did 14.45 km’s in all.

Christopher’s Comments: The Scouts set up a cycle course around Camp Delta with many obstacles like logs, balloons, and a mud pool. Everyone brought their own bikes, Bush Hill had two teams – The Mean Machines (5th) and Flash Mean Machines(12th). We may not have won, but it was more about having fun!!!!!

Suikerbosrand Outing 1 June 2008

On 1 June 2008 we went on a hike at the Suikerbosrand Nature Reserve where we learnt about trees and their uses as well as how to look after our natural resources. After the hike, we went to the lecture hall where we saw dioramas of the grassland and bushveld habitats (and animals) found in the reserve. We all enjoyed boerewors rolls and cooldrink as a fitting end to an enjoyable morning.

Lion's outing to the Animal Anti Cruelty League 24 May 2008.

On the 24th May 2008 our Lion Cubs went to the Animal Anti Cruelty league to do community service as part of their Lion level advancement 'work' which was a whole lot of fun. Here's what Bradley and Chester had to say:

Bradley - On the 24 May 2008 we went to the AACL. We got to pick a puppy and play with it and take care of it. I named my puppy Spot. We also trained and fed the puppies. We put the puppies back and went to check out the cats. We got to hold the dogs and cats, the kittens were so cute!

Chester - On 24 May we went to the AACL we got there about 8.30am. We went to the main office where a lady told us what we were going to do. Then another lady showed us the kitchen where they keep the pellets and harnesses and leashes. Later we went to the kennels and chose a puppy. I chose a milo coloured one and called her Milo. We took our puppies for a walk and fed them pellets in luke warm water. After that we took them to the puppy socializing course. We put the puppies back in their kennels and then went to the cattery where we checked out the cats. I loved my trip to the Animal Anti Cruelty League!
