Dear Parents, Scouters, Scouts and Cubs
The Scout District of Randburg invites you to celebrate our founding father Lord Baden Powell’s birthday. On the Sunday closest to his birthday (22 February), it has become tradition to hold a day of fun and celebration to honour the founder of the Scout and Cub movement around the world.
This year we will be holding a morning service before the fun activities start. Below are the details for the Day:

| Address: | Fountains circle offramp, Take the M14 to Pretoria either from M1 or N4, take the Fountains/Centurion turn-off into Christina de Wit Road and turn right. Straight ahead of you 500m ahead is the entrance to Fountains resort. Please enter at the resort and park. Signs to the area where we will have the service will guide you. |
| Arrival: | All Scouters, Scouts and Cubs to arrive in full uniform for the service. |
The service will begin at 8:45 am and finish at around 09:30am. We will be holding a flag parade of the different groups prior to the service. After the service there will be various orienteering events, both as groups and individuals offered to all scouts, cubs and parents. From 09:30 am till 10:00 am the cubs and scouts will have time to get ready for the days fun activities.
The orienteering events will start at 10:30 and finish at around 12:30. All the cubs and scouts are to bring along a change of clothes, hats, and sunscreen in their own bags. Each item is to be marked clearly with their name. A compass would be a great asset.
Each cub and scout is to have a consent form for the day. No consent form = No participating in the activities of the day. A first aid person will be on duty for the duration of the event.
A small cost of R15.00 per person is to be handed into the Scout Group’s Leader and then handed to a District Scouter on the day. Parents are more than welcome to join us for the service and the orienteering. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the resort afterwards.
This day is to celebrate our founding father so it would be greatly appreciated if all Parents, Scouters, Scouts and Cubs could join us for a few hours on Sunday 21st February 2010. Lets all be there for a fun filled day of games and activities. Your support will be greatly appreciated.
